Awards & Duration
PolyU DFinTech is a part-time, credit-based programme. Students are required to complete 51 credits including 8 taught subjects (a total of 24 credits), 2 compulsory DFinTech Residentials (1 credit for DFinTech Residential 1; 2 credits for DFinTech Residential 2) and a DFinTech Thesis (8 credits for DFinTech Thesis I; 16 credits for DFinTech Thesis II). Normally, students will study 2 to 3 subjects in each semester; particularly students are expected to take and complete 1 core subject in Year 1 and the compulsory subject in Year 2.
The normal duration is 3 years with a maximum of 6 years.
Students who have successfully completed the Programme will be granted a Doctor of FinTech award. There is a possible exit award of Master of Science in Management Research Studies (MSc in MRS) for students who have completed 8 taught subjects, 2 compulsory DFinTech Residentials and passed the DFinTech Thesis I (thesis proposal presentation) (a total of 35 credits).
